NHS Hertfordshire today announced that a collaboration between the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and Assura Lea Valley LLP, have been successful in their bid to run two new urgent care centres (UCCs).

An exciting new GP surgery - West Herts Medical Centre - opens in Hemel Hempstead on 1 June.

It is under a month now until new urgent care centres open at Hertford County and Cheshunt Community hospitals in October 2009. Urgent care centres are a new service for people with relatively minor injuries and ailments that might otherwise have had to travel to an A&E department, to get treated much closer to home. The new centres will provide urgent care for people who do not have a life-threatening illness or injury. The centres will include diagnostic services such as x-rays and blood tests along with treatment areas for wound stitching, sprains and plastering minor fractures.

A new GP-led health centre is set to open its doors at the QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City later this year after the PCT signed a contract with local GPs to provide the service.

This pothole has been fixed (bodged) three times now and is disintigrating yet again. Also another hole has formed about 15 inches away fron the original one. We ask that this and the surrounging area which shows signs of breaking up be repaired properly. As it is summer and the windows are open it is very anoying and disturbing with the amount of traffic that now uses this road .
